The androids generally believe humanity resides on the Moon and must reclaim Earth for their return, unaware that their creators went extinct sometime after the aliens' arrival and the subsequent war, not immediately after fleeing. As time passes, machines evolve to mimic human behavior, blurring the line between enemy and ally and forcing androids to confront the futility of a war fought for ghosts.
